So I <removed> up and knocked my laptop off of my bed (only like 3 feet mind you,) but now it won't work unless I plug it in. Power settings says that there's no battery recognized. Any idea? Could be a broken power pin or something (I haven't found one though.)
~Thanks

So you have a latch that releases the battery. It could be a bad battery or a damaged port on the motherboard. What's the make and model of the laptop.
If it's an internal battery the connector likely got knocked loose and you will need to do some disassembly to reconnect/reseat it.

MERGED QUESTION
Question from alex_357 : "Dropped laptop. Now it doesn't detect the battery."

I opened up the back to check for a loose connection but didn't notice anything wrong. Dropped 3-4 feet off of bed onto carpeted floor. Any guesses appreciated.

Internal means it is inside the laptops case and the system has to be disassembled to remove or replace the battery. When you took it apart did you reseat(unplug and plug back in) the batteries connection to the motherboard?
