For me, pls don't say "there is no best camera, I know that. so I have had a point and shoot (canon sx 500 IS, if you want to know.) for a couple years now, and want to get something better, my budget is $500-700 (might go a little over), I was looking at mirrorless cameras, since I tend to take my camera more places when it's easy to take places. I was looking at the Nikon 1 j5, the canon t5i/t6 (or Nikon equivalent), and, yeah. any suggestions?

Sony makes good cameras.
Just as the others, it is hard to buy a bad one.
Basically, feature list, and what ecosystem do you want to buy into.

If you start with a Canon body, then your lenses are Canon. Similar for Nikon, etc.

Noice. What do you think about Sony cameras? I looked at a couple, but they are more expensive
