Best gaming 7.1 surround gaming headset for $150 or less?

First, thank you for taking your time to read. Anyways, I'm looking for a 7.1 surround sound headset, which doesn't depend on Dolby digital live, as my A50 depended on that, therefore I couldn't achieve true surround sound due to my motherboard not having DLL. So yea, please recommend some headsets for me.

would you be open to a stereo headphone?

i have been with 2 5.1 headsets, 1 wired, and another wireless. a CM and corsair 2100. while it is nice to have those, now i am using athM50x, and it is better than the 2.

sure, it is not multi channel but is a lot better.
with that budget, i'd get either m50x or sennheiser HD598. the 598 is an open back, ill get this one soon (hopefully)

Hey man, I noticed you have the ath50x's, and I was wondering if there any good for gaming? If not, than what else would you recommend that doesnt sacrifice much sound quality? Thanks

well, m50x has good bass, i enjoy playing bf3/bf4 with it. it's one of the well known headphones out there.
now i have 2, hd598 and my m50xBL

watch/read some reviews, the effort is worth it. if i had the money, i would've gotten a beyer DT990, too bad it's too pricey, but im happy with hd598 good, comfy (man open back is sooo good), and cheap too. got it for $150
