The reason why i wan to buy a laptop because so i can spend time in my school to do programming when i have free time rather than going home just to program and get back to school. The main purpose why i want to buy laptop is for my programming and presentation (video /Power Point) . So i need your help, any suggestions?

laptop that i am looking for 15 inch and up,SSD (128 GB is good), 8 gb ram, Lightweight (if that even possible) , latest CPU and can handle Multi-task.

The Dell XPS 15 is an excellent choice. It's a well-reviewed device that meets all of your criteria.

If you want something cheaper, check this Asus. https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-F556UA-AB54-Intel-Windows-Laptop/dp/B01M08DL26/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1490720315&sr=1-2&keywords=laptop&refinements=p_n_size_browse-bin%3A2423841011%2Cp_n_feature_twelve_browse-bin%3A9521908011

It comes with an i5 7200u, 8gb, 256 GB SSD and Full HD 15.6 inch display.

Or this lenovo: https://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-Ideapad-i7-7500U-Graphics-80SV0056US/dp/B01LNOEKUW/ref=sr_1_34?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1490720498&sr=1-34&keywords=laptop&refinements=p_n_size_browse-bin%3A2423841011%2Cp_n_feature_twelve_browse-bin%3A9521908011&th=1

With i7 7500u, 8gb, 256 gb ssd and also full HD 15.6 inch display.

I know that they come with dual-core, but for these prices you won't find something with an intel quadcore (unless you go for those entry level gaming laptops, which aren't lightweight and slim).

Best regards

thanks man found my soon new laptop :D $500 is a good one for my budget.. btw what can you recommend Gaming Laptop ? i have read the review from this site and i found the cheapest one is Inspiron 15 7000 Gaming (http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/best-gaming-laptops,4828.html) which is $799.00 and the other are 1K and up. so is this gaming laptop worth the price? i don;t mind playing at medium or high as long it gives mo 60fps. (i mostly play online games , ark, rust, csgo, overwatch) just asking which gaming laptop is cheapest that can do gaming, i might change my mind to get a gaming if i can find cheap one. :D

If you can get that Inspiron, and you don't mind that it is not so lightweight as the others, it is a great Purchase. It is in the sweet-spot. Is a great value-performance laptop.
Just try to get the latest model running kaby-lake processors ;). If you don't mind spending around 100 bucks more, upgrade with the GTX 1050 Ti (instead of the non-Ti) in order to get better gaming performance.
Best Regards

My college's website recommended that I get an ASUS ROG Laptop. The GL752VW specifically. That's what I'm currently using for college. I'm currently taking Computer Programming at Algonquin College. I don't game on this laptop as I built my own computer at home. I see a lot of male students in my program who either have this laptop, an Alienware laptop, or an MSI laptop. You should follow what your college says. You can get the GL552VW as it's cheaper. The only difference is size. Full specs here: https://www.asus.com/ca-en/site/g-series/#/products/laptops/gl552-gl752

It is also a great laptop, it compares with last year's dell inspiron gamer. That laptop comes with 6th gen intel core and gtx 960 m, comparing with 7th gen core and gtx 1050/1050 ti, which could bring some extra performance.

Best regards
