Best PCI sound card?

so, thats it, i have a gaming pc, and i want a better sound card for my 5.1 speakers, right now i have a low end one (like 7 bucks, but makes the speakers sound so...). The thing is, i only have a pci slot aviable, no pci express 1x
which one you recomend?

Have a look at the terratec cards. A lot are for musicians but good for gamers also. You could also look at creatives cards but check compatability with your OS

Depends on your budget really - I am still using the PCI version of xtreme-gamer by Soundblaster. Never regreted buying it and never had even the slightest of problems with it! Using it for music and games is fantastic!
