I'm looking for a new tablet to replace an ageing Galaxy Tab 2. I want it to run on either Android (Stock) or Windows. I want it to be 8 or 9 inches and an HD screen, preferably full HD. I want to mainly use it for videos and internet browsing and apps, though I'd like to do some light gaming as well. Thanks in advance.

I'm almost certain you wont find a tablet that runs steam games as well as the HP inside your budget.
the other options are android which while i'm a big fan of it for my mobiles and media streamers for a tablet unless you want to play angry birds your all out of luck.

You can stick a decent class SD card which and use that as additional storage front for your steam games a good class 10 card or better like this one below will read and write as fast as a ordinary spinning hard disk that most people use for your steam games.

You can have a large library of micro SD cards and swap them...

I'm having Serious difficulties on this myself , Im looking for a windows 8 tablet for my dad for his birthday
the way i see it there are two serious choices .

http://www.amazon.co.uk/T100TA-DK002H-10-1-inch-Convertible-Processor-Touchscreen/dp/B00G4E60UA

Both can be picked up for around 250 quid ive linked the amazon one for the t100 because it gives better details.

I'm leaning towards the HP at the moment because it has a better resolution screen.
But it doesn't come with the keyboard accessory ... I will have to buy a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse

I'm worried about the storage on that one, apparently it's about 16GB filled up when you get it, and a couple of steam games would fill the rest.

How does that processor run games like Half Life, Garry's Mod and other low end titles?

You can have a large library of micro SD cards and swap them out based on task , steam will support having multiple locations for your content , The option for installing content on multiple drives is under Settings- Downloads- Steam Library Folders.

Plus you have the added benefit of being able to copy games from your main PC to the SD card by using the an adapter and this peice of software.

It should run the Source based games at a decent FPS. SD cards will easily allow for more space.

Nexus 7 2013 shud do the job.Has full HD 7 inch screen and just the things u might want in a tab for everyday use.consider the LG Gpad also cuz its a HD 8 inch screen doing the same job as the nexus 7:).Galaxy tab 4 is good too but heard that it lags too much but it is for YOUR price point.
