Hello World,
I am about to go on an 8month trip, however i need to take a laptop on my travels so I can still do my job (graphic design). I mainly use Photoshop, Indesign and Illustrator.

I have been checking out Ultrabooks as they seem to be extremely light weight and fit for the type of travelling I am doing.

I am leaning towards the Asus Zenbook UX303LN-DB71T , however I have been reading the i7-4510U processor is not powerful enough for running PS.

Here are the specs:
Windows 8.1
Processor Intel Core i7-4510U
Standard Memory 8GB
Hard Drive 256GB SSD
Optical Drive No
Display Size 13.3"
Display Technology QHD+ (3200x1800)
Touch Screen Yes
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce 840M with 2GB DDR3

Please help me decide if this will fit my needs or not. Also, if there are any suggestions for something more powerful (and as lightweight and portable) - please do let me know.

Cheers!

Make sure you look at reviews for the screen whatever you buy. Also I think that CPU is poor you want an i7 qm or xm not a u. U is ultra low power not good for heavy duty work

This should be able to run PS as most ultrabooks can. PS uses both cpu and gpu, mostly gpu to do the rendering. It should be enough but I would turn down the res to 1080p to make it easier to use.

Hi,

Do you have buy the ultrabook? I need too one, for the same reasons, small and powerfull. If you buy it already, are you satisfade?

Thanks!!!

Yuo could try something like the asus ux303LN, That should be enough unless you are a professional graphic artist in which case you may want a deticated graphics tablet.
