I'm looking for a laptop which would be capable of playing fairly average games at at least 60 FPS, and am wondering which setup will offer me the most FPS in Borderlands 2.
I was mainly hovering around the gigabyte U2442N, with an i5-3230m and a GT640m, until I saw that the gt640m might not be capable of running Borderlands 2 (my most played game) at 1280*720 on low settings constantly above 60 FPS
- Notebook check says that it can only manage about 65 FPS average at 1024*768 on low settings, so surely it can't handle 1280*720?
The U2442N is £708 on the cheapest trustworthy website I can find.
I've found another laptop which has a GT740m, which should be able to handle the game (more) reasonably, but that laptop only has a i5-3337u, which seems to be pretty poor when it comes to gaming. This laptop is much cheaper, however.
The Sony Vaio Fit 15 E is £527.08
So my question stands: Which would be a better choice, sacrifice the CPU or the GPU? I think I should elaborate more: will the difference in CPU cost me more FPS in Borderlands 2 than the difference in GPU? Which option would give me the highest FPS?
By the way, I am open to suggestions of different laptops which are much better deals and can offer me all I want, but I cannot go over 15.6" in screen size and need something that isn't very bulky (I'm going to be moving around alot).
Thanks in advance!
