Only seemingly. When tested, not so much.
Neither 'Netbook is suitable for any office work where you need to multi-task. Like using MS Word and Excel at the same time.
Note the 1GB of memory.

When i say office, i mean light office like mostly openoffice word doc

plan on installing ubuntu netbook edition / or some other form of linux

Why would you pay for a copy of Windows you won't even use? Both those models have Windows installed.

Keep in mind that the Atom N455 has less CPU power than a 2003 Pentium M 1400Mhz CPU
