I'm currently looking for a laptop that costs around $700 and after days searching I came up with two options:

http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-NP350V5C-T01US-15-6-Inch-Laptop-Silver/dp/B0098O6CMO/ref=sr_1_5

http://www.amazon.com/Acer-Aspire-V3-571G-9686-15-6-Inch-Laptop/dp/B009JXK23O/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

I'm planning to use this mostly for Photoshop/Illustrator and gaming on med/high settings.

The problem is that they are very similar, both in specs and price. The Samsung one has a superior battery (or at least that's what they advertise), but it also has a slighty weaker GPU. I've also heard that Samsung has a better reputation when it comes to the build quality compared to Acer, but beside that I can't really see a difference between these two computers so I was wondering if you guys could help me decide.

Thanks.

Hi,

Yeah they are virtually identical as you said, some games will be a wee bit faster on the AMD chip whereas some will be faster with the Nvidia.

Other than that, I think you should base your judgment on the overall reviews of both machines over various websites. Ask some amazon buyers on how their machine is since they've parted their money to get it and so forth.

However, wait for other members to reply to your thread, see what they have to say... you might even get a better recommandation...

Enjoy,

Dan

Wow, this just made everything so much easier. The Acer computar used to cost $730, not $773. Yeah, It's not worth it. Thanks!

It costs $800 with taxes and Amazon doesn't tax on Miami so It's $100 dollars more.
