The first sentence is spot on - use what you like and what fits you. The rest is meh. None of this gear has any "soul". Not sure if you noticed but BB was mass-selling hardware.

Well if you do want to get BB10 you will have to get a new handset because the old ones will not be allowed to upgrde to BB10. Very annoyed as my 9900 is only 6 months old and I have 18 mnths left on my contract. How sh1t is that?
