Blank machine

hello, i want to download a recovery disc to restart my machine. the green light light indicating power is on but there isn't any writing or whatever on the screen, its just blank.. so what actually am i going to do or is there any software which i can use or download to solve the problem? Confused much...

If the screen is not showing anything at all, a recovery disc is not going to fix it.

If you can hear the usual noises from the laptop as it boots up, the most likely reasons are:

The screen, or it's backlight, or the inverter board, need replacing

or

the graphics adapter has failed.
