Blue Yeti Distortion?

I recently purchase a Blue Yeti USB Microphone at Radioshack and been experiencing technical difficulties ever since I plugged it in to my Windows Vista desktop. I notice that every time I record my voice and play it on Audacity, it sounds very high pitched and distorted.

At first I thought it had something to do with the microphone input, so I turned every boost/level all the way down. Unfortunately, the problem still persists. Another thing I notice is that the sounds from the speakers tend to go away every time I plug the Yeti. When I disconnect the Yeti, the sounds from the speakers return. Interestingly, the only sound that the desktop catches are the high pitched distorted sounds from Yeti.

Curious of what might be wrong, I went to my neighbor and used his laptop. The sounds from his laptop also went away as well, but his laptop doesn't seem to capture the Yeti at all. He gave me his headphones to test the Yeti and with it I can hear it capturing nice, distorted-free audio just like it's supposed to. Yet the recorded audio doesn't want to play on his laptop for some reason. I knew right away that it wasn't due to a broken recording. I began to think that maybe there's something wrong with the hard drive or I'm missing something with the sound card.

Going back to my desktop, I became really frustrated on what the issue might be. I searched for solutions on the Internet and none of them were helpful.

However, one thing did caught my eye. I noticed that when I plugged my old microphone the recorded tracks in Audacity still sound high pitch and distorted just like the Blue Yeti! I was completely mind blown because I never had issues recording with the old mic. I realized that there's something either wrong with the Yeti driver or some sound thingy got corrupted ever since the Yeti was installed. I tried to do everything trying to resolve this issue, but nothing seems to work.

The only way I can get rid of this annoying audio is by recovering my desktop when the Yeti was never installed. The recording seems to work well as long as I don't install the Yeti. Every time I install the Yeti, I always get this nasty audio. I have no choice but send my PC back to time if I want it away.

What is going on? Why is this happening to me? Is there something wrong with the Yeti driver, sound drivers, or am I just missing something?

*Update

I recently went to YouTube and found out why the audio cuts on my desktop every time I plug in the Yeti. It turns out that the audio default position was automatically set to the Yeti Speaker when it was actually supposed to be set to Realtek High Definition Audio. When I put Realtek as the default, there was finally audio. Unfortunately, the high pitch (almost like if the audio sounds it's tilting) recording still exists.

If you know the solution to what this high pitch, distorted or tilting noise might be on both the Yeti and my old mic, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Do you have your speaker system on? You may be causing feedback as the Yeti hears sounds coming from your computer speakers. Turn off speakers and see if that helps issue.
