My ACER laptop with Windows 10 thinks my bluetooth speaker is a headset and won't play any sound (music, podcasts, etc). They do pair and connect. How do I fix this? Thanks!

  1. Go to Device Manager > Bluetooth > Microsoft Bluetooth emulator (mine also had an LE enumerator)
  2. Go to action up top and click disable - mine was the LE one that had to be disabled.
Ignore the warning and it will work. The sound now comes from my Bluetooth speaker.

Hi, thanks for your input. I tried your suggestion of disabling the MB enumerator (mine says enumerator and not emulator), but then the bluetooth device would only pair, but not connect. So I enabled it again and tried to disable the LE enumerator instead. This time it showed "Connected voice", but will not play sound. It still seems to think it is only a headset (mic). Sigh.

(By the way, I have a different bluetooth speaker (no mic) that works fine - just the sound quality is not very good. It says "connected music" when it plays sound.)

Do you have other ideas? Thanks.
