What should be a typical boot (start-up) time for a Dell XPS 15 L521X laptop running Windows 10 with a i5 2.6 GHz processor, 16 GB memory and Samsung 256 GB SSD?
Thank you
Thanks for responding.
Yes, mine is not booting as fast as I thought it would with a SSD. My boot time varies between 30 to 90 seconds!
Samsung 500GB 850 EVO - ~30 seconds from the power button with a cold boot. However...15 seconds of that is the BIOS doing its thing. Which the SSD has no impact on.
After that....~15 seconds to a usable desktop. That last 15 seconds is the only thing the drive type can influence.
1. Where are you measuring this time from?
2. What is automatically running at startup (don't say "Nothing", because that's not correct)
3. What does yours do currently?
Thanks for responding.
