Bootable usb of kali not working

I am trying to create a live usb of kali linux, but my lenovo laptop is not booting from it, any ideas?

If you combined Kali with an automatic boot using Rufus, it shoud work. Are the BIOS settings allowing the USB Port to boot first and is there power to that port before the OS cuts in? Check for a setting named USB Legacy Support and make sure it's Enabled.

You could also try mashing the Function 12 key to change from the default boot device.
