Both front and rear audio ports not working

I just bought a new pair of headphones and confirmed they work fine (with my iPhone); however, when I plug them into either the front or rear 3.5mm audio ports of my PC, I get almost no sound.

I can VERY faintly here music playing when I watch a youtube video or perform an audio test, but most of what I hear is whine/static noises (which fluctuate when I move the mouse around).

Any help with this is appreciated.

Headphones too high impedance? PC headphone audio is best with 30-50 ohm impedance, if I remember correctly.

They're gaming headphones, built for PC, PS4, etc., so I think they should be fine.

Nominal impedance 60 Ω per system

Try going to settings on your audio input, then properties, then Enhancements, then check the loudness equalization.
