Broken computer

My bro's laptop is broken. It's an Asus X42DE. When it is turned on, the light from the on/off switch is still on but there's no display. My brother was watching movie and it suddenly turned off. So, what's the problem of my brother's computer?

not certain but it looks like your screen is dead.
your laptop has a connection to an external monitor, so I would try to connected to an external monitor and see if still works.

This would prove if my suspicions are right (about the dead screen)
If not then it could be something more serious.

Check also if your computer is under warranty.

Yep, the external monitor didn't turn on....

I don't know if the warranty is still on but it about 1 year already (i think)....
