Solved! Broken unresponsive keyboard

Hi i have and alienware m17x and the keyboard is completely unresponsive it was my mothers and she gave it to me telling me the key board doesnt work the mouse pad works fine but not sure what the issue is i dont think nothing spilt on it either

Try connecting an external keyboard and see if that works. If it does, then the attached keyboard will need to be replaced. (or you can keep using the attached one.)

If an attached keyboard also doesn't work on the laptop, then you are probably looking at a motherboard replacement.
