So my last pair of headphones- Tt eSPORTS SHOCK PC Gaming Headset
just broke over the last week and while there is still a couple weeks in the manufacturer
warranty unfortunately thermaltake is too stupid to reply to my offers to get a replacement/ fix.
anyways im gonna try and get a new set preferably under 80 dollars including shipping and would like some help choosing a pair that will at least last me a year till college. Some ones ive heard great things about or look good are listed below. I would like it to have a good mic and possibly be wireless if it is quality in this price range. Feel free to add recommendations yourself. Im going to buy from newegg or amazon.
always hear theses are awesome- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA4HH2VY1078

the vmoda boompro, modmic, moovmic, zalman clip on and others are all on-headphone microphones FYI so attach directly to your headphones.

besides the hxc, there are a few other choices but none are without drawbacks. the gamecom780 has issues with surround sound, the g930 has wireless lag issues, the v2/v3 is fragile.

perhaps the logitech pc320 (92 i believe) which is decent though it doesnt have much of a low end.
my personal suggestion would be something along the lines of using headphones like the hd518 or ad500x paired up with a mic like the moovmic for instance. those would give you a nice wide soundstage for gaming and good positional audio.

if breaking them is something you're worried about, the vmoda m80 is $88 on amazon right now (you can pair it with any mic or their special boompro mic) to make it a headset. they are built rather hardy so i doubt you can break them.

if you only want "headset" recommendations then the hyperxcloud1 has decent quality and might be worth looking into.
