I was wondering if there is anyway to bypass the power on botton on a laptop to a killswitch. Im going to be using it for a car and I want the power botton to be wired to the middle console of the car.

bitchistheman334, odd name, might want to try reading stickies or at the very leas fecking off to the mobile section.

Yeah, i've played inside a few laptops but they are too craped up and far too "propriety" made. Too hard to get the proper parts

So you just want to shut the machine off immediately? Sure, there's an easy way to do, but it's all on you as to what it'll do to that poor hard disk.

Don't install a battery on the machine - if it's in a car, you won't need one anyway.

Go to radioshack and pick up a male and female connector matching the one on your PSU and power plug on the notebook. Also get a SPST switch.

Wire the switch up in between the connectors, plug in, and there you go. Flipping the switch cuts off the PSU. No power for computer.
