Solved! Bypass swipe on phone

is there any way to reset my Samsung Galaxy emerge phone and remove the swipe pattern set on phone so that I can get into the data on the phone I do not want to lose my data ...text ...voicemails etc...so I don't want to do a hard reset

The only way past the pattern is to enter the pattern. Then you can turn off the pattern lock option, or change it to another option.
