In that price range, you'll get quality about the same as you'll get from a decent smart phone. You'll probably get more bang for your buck going with a phone that has a good camera. Nokia Lumia cameras have very good cameras that will compete with any basic point and shoot. The iPhone 5S's camera is also quite good, and the processor on either of those phone will be FAR superior. Your experience will be much more pleasurable on a phone, and the results will be just as good. If you want something better, the options are to go with a higher-end point and shoot (e.g. Sony Cyber Shot R-series), a mirroless interchangeable lens camera, or a DSLR.
