can 2 phones be linked to the same number on any type of mobile network?

Yes/no ??? I was asked this question by a friend and realized I have absolutely no clue one way or the other and told her I'd try and find out. any answers would be greatly appreciated guys/ladies. Thanks in advance!

Like these guys say; it's more than possible to use the SIM card in other devices, or to use more than one.

However there is no way to have the same number linked to more than one individual SIM card.
Your number is on the SIM card in the phone....if your phone allows you to remove and replace the SIM card, you can move it between 2 phones. I used to do that when I was out boating .... left my smartphone back at the dock and took a $10 cheapo on the boat with me.
