Can 2 receivers be connected to the same speakers?

I have one receiver with radio output connected to 2 sets of speakers. This receiver allows you to select one set of speaker or the other or both. I have another receiver connected to a CD player and turn table. Can both of these receivers be simultaneously connected to the same 2 sets of speakers? What connections do I need to make?

dont try to wire two receivers to one set of speakers unless you want to fry stuff.

Most speaker selectors won't work safely as an amp selector because all the grounds are common. That means you are connecting the speaker grounds of the amps together. Might blow up the amps. Something like this will work

select the tape source in the first receiver; identify in the rear panel the Tape (play) output on that first receiver and connect the rca jacks from that output to the second receiver input source of your choice, cd, dvd, video, except phono (in case your receiver still has this input) in your case, the receiver with the cd player and turntable will be the first receiver and the receiver with the speakers connected will be the second receiver.
