Can a 1920x1080 LCD work a laptop with a 1366x768 default resolution??

Hi,
So my laptop LCD was cracked and I'm look for an LCD that I can replace.
My laptop model is the Asus F555L and I was wondering if an LCD with a 1920x1080 resolution would work with my laptop as it's default resolution at the moment is 1366x768?
Should I get another 1366x768 LCD or could I buy a 1920x1080 LCD and it would increase my resolution in my laptop?

It should work if your laptops graphics card allows you to use higher resolutions than that

Yes, look in Display Properties and see what higher resolutions are available from the GPU.

If this is your laptop, then it is perfectly capable of driving a full HD screen for work. It has an intel IG 4400 which is capable of running a FHD monitor for work. No gaming though.

I'm using an external monitor so because the LCD on the laptop is broken so I'm not sure the resolution is about the monitor not the actual laptop.

I have the same problem. My laptop has the resolution of 1366x768(recommended) by default and i can set it to maximum resolution of 1920x1080. And the lcd that currently installed is 1366x768. I`m planning to buy a new lcd hardware that is 1920x1080 resolution. Do you think it is a good idea?
