Can any body tell me what server OS should be used in a storage server /

As we have a academy and we have a storage server with about 8 Gb ram and X series xeon processor and 4 tb HD with RAID support not talking about OS i am little bit confused between Windows server 2003 and 2008 what is the diff and what is the diff btw windows server 2008 and share point server so if any one can help me out in deciding what will suit me the best ........

i never used share point server , but it for used in intranets.. you will get more from google.
share point is not an OS like server 2003 or 2008,,

If you wan the usual, get Server 2008, if you want the best, get Linux OS.
