Can degrading the windows help solve the screen related issues of Lenovo Y50 UHD?

hi! i have recently bought Lenovo Y50 laptop with UHD screen display and some of my softwares are not working properly. When I use photoshop or similar softwares then the icons on screen appear too small to view properly. Will degrading the Windows 8.1 to Windows 7 help in the performance?

Just change the screen resolution when you are using those programs. You shouldn't need to downgrade to windows 7. Although Windows 7 does have better scaling options than Windows 8.1

It will not help with icon's size, since the hardware is the same, and it can make it look worse if Lenovo did not release Windows 7 drivers for Y50.

Don't change resolution, change scaling - I've found that bumping the scaling to 125" makes looking at the screen much easier (with the expense of fitting less on it, of course)
