Solved! Can dvr files from one box be played on another?

The boxes in question would be Dish Network and Xfinity. Looking to change service and have some dvr files I would rather not lose. Could I transfer from dish to xfinity and bring them along?

Nope. The DVR content (locally recorded) will not convert between platforms.

Theoretically, PPV content should still be available via the provider after changing service. That is different than the DVR content.

Not with any legal means, that I am aware of. You should contact your provider to verify what they allow (or not).
