Can i connect my normal computer screen to the satellite

Hello,
my tv went bust today and i want to watch my shows.my mum asked me to take my computer screen so she can try and connect it to the satellite box but we have no clue whatsoever in what to do.Please help ASAP as my brother is also disbled and the only thing he understands is the TV.

i'm not sure if there are any direct compatablility issues but don't believe so since you can use HDTVs as monitors. perhaps someone else can post with their own experiences but there shouldn't be any harm in trying.

that said, you have to have the right inputs. monitors typically have hdmi, dvi, or vga connectors. what connectors (output) does your satalite have? if you use a different connector you will have to have a conversion cable/box/device. some are available locally at a computer parts store (or electronics store).
