Can i get a hand comparing two laptops for purchase

Hi all

I'm looking to spend around the £2000 mark on a laptop. The primary use for this will be gaming, and i'm hoping you will help me make a decision on what will be a significant expenditure for me.

My expectations are to be able to play newly released games for 3-5 years on medium to ultra settings. Weight, size and noise are not issues for me, but i would like it to be durable and stable.

Razer don't supply the UK, and the specs seem lower than the two I posted? Lovely looking machine though!

Needs to be able to fit into a laptop bag / backpack as I travel constantly for work.

Going by specs only, the Octane would be faster, more RAM, faster CPU, solid state drive.

For reliability and bluray disk, ASUS. If it was my pick, I'd go with the ASUS and swap the hard drive for a 256 or 512 GB solid state drive even if the speed may be a bit off.

Just wanted to mention that the ASUS looks like it is already equipped with a 512GB SSD, and a 1TB HDD. 😀
