Does your TV has speaker connections? The specs do not say so.

Since these specs do not mention anything about headphones output, you will need either a receiver (supporting ARC, or with optical input), or stereo amplifier with additional optical-to-RCA converter.

I do have an audio input on the rear of the TV. Does that work.

It is an "Input" - eg to connect your old-style VHS player to the TV. It is not an "output".

Your TV is clearly designed with "modern" world in mind.
