Can I hook up two wireless Insignia 2.4 hz headsets to my TV and/or cable box?

OK--in a fit of consumerism I decided that buying two Insigna wireless headphones NS-WHP-314 to allow two of us to watch TV silently.

I have the base+wireless headsets x2. I also have a Best Buy splitter as well.

I plugged in one base to the cable box and one to the TV. Only the cable box worked.

Is there something that I can do to fix this? Can provide photos..

If the cable box is your only source connected to the TV you don't need to connect to the TV. If not then does your TV have an analog audio output? This is not that common and the audio input jacks look the same. If if only has a digital audio out you would need a DAC like this one:

Also sInce the headphones are identical you should be able to receiver a signal on both headphones from a single transmitter.
