can i put my subwoofer behind a closet

Hi,
So I'm changing the position of my subwoofer. I'm using a 5.1 system. It seems that I could only put my subwoofer behind a closet. Is this okay? Will putting the subwoofer directly behind the front left speaker won't disturb the base sound?

Changing the position of the subwoofer will always change the sound.
If you block the air being pushed by the subwoofer it will reduce the output and punch.
Only way to tell for sure is to try it. Remember you will have to change the woofer level at each position. If your woofer is forward firing changing the direction it fires will change the sound too.
