Can I safely have my Air Conditioner in the same room as my gaming computer?

Title says it all, and I don't know if I put this in the right category, but this is the smartest forum I know 😉

I'm just wanting to make sure I can run my new air conditioner safely in the same room as my gaming rig without blowing a fuse, and therefor also possibly killing my hard drive with a power failure. I have them on separate outlets, but I assume the outlets are on the same power circuit, and I looked in my power box and I believe the switch for the bedroom circuit has a "15" marked on it, which I assume means 15 amps for that switch.

Any idea if I should be safe to run these at the same time?
I also have a 12 amp vacuum cleaner, so I'm considering unplugging my PC and running the AC and the vacuum at the same time and if everything is fine assuming that the circuit can therefore handle my PC and the AC together.

You are really going to push the limit of what the circuit can handle if you are going to run all that at the same time. The AC is showing a max draw of almost 11 amps, the PC at full load will draw another 3 amps roughly (more if its a AMD build).

Breakers are rated for continuous duty, and odds are not everything will be running at full load at the same time.

This is why its recommended to have a dedicated circuit for air conditioners.

honestly it depends on how your house is wired and what size breakers are used.

generally 15a or 20a breakers are used in residential. 15a is a bit more common although some houses run 20a but often have better wiring.

with that said, it also depends on if your house is wired up to have your whole room on a single breaker or if your room runs on two breakers. many houses might run a single breaker for a small room however some which are wired for heavier load might have two but that is not as common.

if your room is wired to just one 15a breaker then you would not want to run the AC with the vacuum at the same time. it might be fine with the pc however i wouldnt push your load too heavy as you would be borderline.

if your room is wired to one 20a breaker then you have a little more leeway although the above is true.

if your room is wired to two 15a or two 20a breakers then i would run the air conditioner on its own dedicated breaker. the rest could go on the other breaker and you would be perfectly fine.
