Do you have installed a windows 64 bit system on it? If just 32bit, you will only be able to use about 3GB max.

Couldn´t find your model number´s specifications over the net. Are you sure this is your model number?

Use CPU-Z to have a look yourself which RAM is currently installed. Also which CPU you are using.
Especially have a look at the SPD tab
