Can i upgrade windows starter to windows 7 on a gateway netbook

I have a new/used Gateway TL2104u Netbook with Windows 7 Starter 32 bit that I'd like to upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit. I've already upgraded the RAM to 2GB and have limited programs on it. I have a USB external CD/DVD so that is good to go too. Are there any problems as will it run slower or better or the same but wiht more functionality. Thanks
