Can not find boot.ini file

I have a small notebook and I have problems with boot.ini. Everytime I on its appear and my notebook have no CD. I try system recovery also fail. Please help me

Hi if you are using XP and you have updated to service pack 3 this done it to me a couple of times dont no why i ended up doing a reinstall ox XP
