Hi, I was looking to purchase a laptop, i found one with my specifications, backlit keyboard, more than 5 hours of battery life (gets around 8), 13.3" display, and pretty thin, i mainly want to use it for word/excel/quickbooks, however i do occasionally watch movies and i was wondering if this laptop could handle 1080p movies because the processor really lacks and as a result the gpu will run at a lower mhz as well,

the laptop is HP FOLIO 13 1029wm with the following specs

Intel Core i3-2367M processor @ 1.4 GhZ

4GB DDR3 SDRAM

Intel HD Graphics 3000 with 1696MB

128GB solid state drive

PCMARK 7 - 2,689

i am buying this laptop for $400 dollars, and i really can't find anything else this thin with 7-8 hours of battery life at this price, i was looking for something 13.3 or under with 5 hours plus, if there is something else that can handle 1080p

Yeah that CPU will be plenty for your needs. Intel's HD 3000 graphics are plenty for 1080Pp video playback. Just don't expect to play any games.

what about a system with a intel - Celeron 887

i stumbled upon the Lenovo X131/X130

they have two models, one with

128gb ssd + intel - Celeron 887

and one with AMD Dual-Core E-300 + 320 GB @ 7200 RPM HDD

both around the same price range would either of these handle 1080p playback?
