Hello, I had an old Cassette player, and I had the idea to record the audio into MP3 files by connecting the Headphone jack of the Walkman to the Microphone input of my PC and recording the sound. Will this work, or will this fry my PC?

Also, what happens when we connect the Headphone jack of the PC to the Microphone jack with an AUX cable? Does it fry the components?

Please reply.

Yes, no damage should occur if you plug it into the line in jack. To record, just open the voice recorder and let it record.

OK, Thanks, so just to be clear, if i connect the headphone out jack to the computer`s line in jack, no damage should occur?

Also, after connecting, how should I record the audio, should I just open voice recorder, and then just let it record it, or should I do anything different.

Thanks anyway for your help.

Why record in MP3 when cassettes sound 1000 times better in WAV? Also, the free software Audacity will perform this recording som much easier and smoother than the built in software.
