can you hook up external speakers to an xbox 360 instead of using computer speakers?

ok I have downloaded windows ten and now my xbox 360 has no sound can i hookup an external speaker system to the xbox for sound??

What Windows has to do with the sound from your XBox?
You can get optical-to-RCA audio converter, plug one end with optical cable into your XBox, other end into your speakers.

the xbox was hooked up to my computer with a HDMI cord and the sound came through my computer speakers after downloading windows 10 i have no sound from xbox wanted to know if I could hook up external speakers to xbox I have found out that I can so thanks for trying
