Hi I want to install new copy of windows 7 on my machine, but My Toshiba C660 Can't boot from CD. As per solution in the link below: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/85143-35-toshiba-satellite-boot

"in the bios under advanced- system configuration -boot mode- change it to csm boot."

I tried to find "boot mode" in the advanced system configuration, but it is not available in my BIOS Settings. Can you please suggest me any solution how to boot my laptop with Windows 7 CD or how to change BIOS Settings ? (Please see attached BIOS Settings Screenshots)

Can anyone please guide here..

Solution
When I boot that toshiba Laptop with old installed windows 7. and check the properties of CD-Drive, it shows the CD as empty. and when i checked the same CD in other computer it was full of data.

Ok, then your CD-Drive is not working properly :), check what jarotech said try other CDs, and why not try as i said and boot it from USB.

Try and make bootable windows copy from your CD with some program like magic iso and place it on USB than try again. Your CD is probably the problem, there some windows CDs that are not bootable.

Hi Darren, Thanks for reply.

There is no issue with the CD but my Laptop.

I tried an other CD of Windows 8 on this laptop, but boot failed again after black screen appeared for few seconds.

I checked both CDs on other computer and both worked fine.

Another issue is that:
When I boot that toshiba Laptop with old installed windows 7. and check the properties of CD-Drive, it shows the CD as empty. and when i checked the same CD in other computer it was full of data.

Solution
There's no need to go in to BIOS Setup for a "one off" boot from CD/DVD (eg OS installation)
Turn on laptop and insert CD or DVD.
Turn off laptop.

Turn on laptop & keep pressing F12 straight away.
The Boot Device Menu should appear.
Use arrow keys (up/down) to highlight the optical drive.
Press <Enter>.
