Cant connect my Samsung Tab 2 to my TV

I have a Samsung Tab 2 10.1 which I have tried to connect to my Samsung Smart TV using a Samsung HDTV Adapter P30pin and HDMI cable. I keep getting a message 'No Signal' on my TV. when I select the HDMI port the Tab is connected to. HDMI 2 has my Sky box connected to it and that is working fine. I also note that HDMI 1 and 3 are not highlighted on the TV for selction.

The TV may not allow the selection of HDMI 1 or 3 unless it detects the handshake that HDMI uses to tell if something is connected. Can only guess that you may have to "turn on" the HDMI out of the Tab in a menu.
