Can't decide between 4th and 6th gen i7

go with the 4th gen if your on a tight budget, its at most a 10% difference in cpu power.
If you find that 10% to justify the 6th gen then by all means buy it, This is your call.
Go for skylake for better future compatibility. Better battery life and a much better GPU to boot. On desktop it's not as big of a difference, but in the laptop space the 6th gen is a very worthwhile upgrade
 
Skylake is around 10% better then Haswell. So the difference is that noticeable. Though Skylake CPus use less power so thats a bonus on laptops. Also if its using a skylake cpu then it probably has a better gpu aswell.
