Can't decrypt External Hardisk in truecypt!!!

i got a 2 tb external hd ...

i encrypted it.. and it took 28 hours...

working great!!... i can use all of that data by mounting it..
but when i click on permanently decrypt system drive/partition..

it says there is no partition to decrypt!!!..

Get / borrow a spare drive, and copy over the files to it. Then re-format original drive, and return files. Yes, another 28 hours or so 😉

Formatting an Encrypted Hard-disk?.. i think that's gonna damage it...

I said, before formatting - copy over the contents (as it appears you can access it) to a spare disk.

u don't understand... data and hard disk both are important....

Maybe formatting that hard-disk damages the hard-disk(because it is encrypted !!)..
Maybe After Formatting it ... I won't be able to use it again..!!!

Formatting does not damage a hard drive in any way. If the drive fails during the process then it was destined to fail anyway.
