Hi. I'm having some problems with my Galaxy S8+. I cant seem to do a hardware reset on my android. Once I get to the option button I notice it tells me after reset I have to login with the same email to activate my android again. I truly believe I have a virus and it's not allowing me to get rid of it. What can I do at this point? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you

This is normal. It's a theft protection feature called factory reset protection. So If somebody steals your phone they can't just factory reset it and use it. Without your gmail address and password the phone would be a brick.

Hi, I'm a little confused, that is what it's meant to say. It's saying that when you reset you will have to log in with your Google account for your services because it's an Android device. Why do you think you have a virus? Kaveh
