Cant get f8 key or boot to cd

i cant boot to cd i cant get f8 just get the file header checksum does not match the computed checksum, have tried new hdd different ram and tried using a usb external drive

Acer extensa 5220, cant get f8 to go to safe mode wont boot into windows vista os if you put a cd in drive to try to load os to a new hdd just get hyperglithics if put in cd with existing hd get press key to boot to cd but it hangs and eventually brings up another error if you press alt f10 to try to go to recovery partition the computer reboots

Anyway, I would test your memory and hard disk with the Ultimate Boot CD.

as stated it is an acer extensa 5220, and the option of hitting f8 to get other start up problems does nothing

You ran the tests and they were all green? Just because they work for a bit in another computer doesn't meant they're good parts.
