cant locate external monitor

I am using microsoft 10 operateing system. My Toshiba laptop will not identify an external monitor. HDMI-HDMI. Initially when I boot up it locates the monitor, the quickly goes to "no signal" wht am i doing wrong?

Hi,

You may need to set it up manually for the 2nd monitor to work. Press the Windows key + P at the same time and select Duplicate and External display then press Enter and now you should be able to view 2 display at the same time. If these doesn't work you may need to try troubleshooting the graphics card driver.
