Can't Open TV Remote for Cleaning

Hello. So, I've had this Samsung TV for a while now, and its remote has become faulty. Some buttons work, some don't (I made sure by pointing it at a camera). I suspect that the internals are dirty, but I cannot open the remote. I've tried twice, but to no avail.

The remote looks like this:

Usually when the buttons start to break that means the remote is dying.
I recommend purchasing a new remote as the internal won't be dirty due to the fact that its sealed and doesnt have vents.
If you had your TV less than 12 months ago, contact Samsung for a remote replacement

I wouldn't recommend doing this without using great care and very sturdy gloves.

Well, I had batteries in it and hadn't noticed that they corroded. White powder was everywhere (possibly went through the holes in the battery cover), so I thought that might've been a factor.

Geez, it took a while for that guy to even crack the thing open! I haven't got the tools nor the patience to do that. 😛

I can recommend the Logitech Harmony if you have a number of devices to control, but it is expensive. I agree that you need a new remote; you can pick up the genuine Samsung one quite cheaply.

The genuine remote that you can purchase which will work with your TV is here

And it looks exactly the same as your existing one
All you have to do is put batterys in and the TV will do the rest

I guess the corrosion from the batteries caused problems with the circuit board. Well, I should've looked before the battery compartment was filled with corroded battery.

That mustve been annoying, its like that advertisement I saw where this guy heard a continuous rattling noise in his car, so he took the dash board, steering wheel, etc apart and found that the issue was there was a ring inside the glove box and not the car.
