Yosemite 10.10.2 - 1TB hard drive just for data (OS X is on a different drive). The 1TB is encrypted w/ Truecrypt.

I have been using Truecrypt for a few years and now I want to stop using it. I copied all my data off of the internal hard drive, but in Truecrypt 1.7a I see no option to Decrypt the drive.

In Disk Utility, under the Partition tab, the dropdown menu that lets you choose the number of partitions, it's greyed out and I cannot Partition the drive.

I don't need the data, I have it saved, but I would like to partition the drive and continue to use it.

Any suggestions?

Answered my own question, here it is for any of you Truecrypt users in a similar position.

Copy ALL your data off of the drive, we're about to completely erase it! (I use SuperDuper to clone it to another drive so I can just clone it back once I've removed the encryption, but use whatever method you prefer.)

Launch Disk Utility, Select your partition, choose the Erase tab. In the dropdown menu your partition should show up as Journaled, Encrypted.

Simply choose just Journaled, and click Erase.

After that you can choose Partition and partition it any way you want.
